Hideki Matsui and Alberto Callaspo hit home runs as the Los Angeles Angels rallied for a 4-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night.
Franklin Gutierrez had two RBIs and gave the Mariners a 2-1 lead with an RBI groundout in the fifth.
But Matsui hit a two-run homer - his 18th - off Jason Vargas (9-8) in the seventh for a 3-2 lead and Callaspo added his 10th homer in the eighth.
Jordan Walden (1-0) earned his first win with a one-hit seventh. Los Angeles starter Trevor Bell allowed two runs on nine hits in seven innings.
Los Angeles improved to 12-4 against the Mariners this season and ended a streak of five consecutive series losses.
Vargas allowed three runs on four hits in seven innings to take the loss.
