Ubaldo Jimenez pitched the first no-hitter of the 2010 season and the first in franchise history to lead the Colorado Rockies to a 4-0 win over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday.

The 26-year-old Jimenez (3-0) struck out seven and walked six in the contest. He retired the last 15 hitters he faced.

Center fielder Dexter Fowler made the defensive play of the game, making a diving catch in the seventh inning to keep history alive.

Entering the ninth inning having throw 115 pitches, Jimenez wasted no time in the frame, getting Martin Prado to pop out and Chipper Jones to fly out to left before Brian McCann grounded a 97-mph 1-2 fastball to second base for the final out.

Jimenez helped himself at the plate as well, singling in a run in the Rockies’ three-run fourth inning. Carlos Gonzalez added a two-run double in the frame and Troy Tulowitzki rounded out the scoring with a sacrifice fly.

Braves starter Kenshin Kawakami (0-2) took the loss, giving up four runs on eight hits in five innings.
