Jason Heyward had three hits, including a go-ahead, two-run double in the 10th inning to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 6-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday.
The Braves were 1-for-12 with runners in scoring position before Heyward's two-out double off Reds closer Francisco Cordero (3-4) scored Melky Cabrera and Martin Prado.
Jesse Chavez (3-2) pitched a scoreless ninth for the win. Billy Wagner allowed the tying runs to reach in the bottom of the 10th, but he struck out Drew Stubbs to earn his 24th save.
Atlanta nearly took the lead in the ninth but Reds right fielder Chris Heisey robbed Brooks Conrad of a home run, leaping to snare his shot off Cordero.
The Reds tied it in the eighth on Joey Votto's 27th home run, a solo shot off Jonny Venters. Votto had three hits and two RBIs and Scott Rolen added three hits and an RBI for the Reds.
Chipper Jones had two hits and an RBI and Brian McCann hit a two-run homer - his 14th of the season - for Atlanta, which moved 3 1/2 games ahead of Philadelphia in the NL East.
Reds starter Johnny Cueto gave up four runs on 10 hits over 5 1/3 innings, marking the first time in his last eight starts he has allowed more than two runs.
