Aubrey Huff went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and Tim Lincecum pitched seven solid innings to help the San Francisco Giants to a 6-5 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night.
Huff put the Giants ahead to stay with a two-run double in the third inning and added his 20th home run of the season in the seventh.
Lincecum (11-4) struck out nine and gave up two runs and seven hits.
The Dodgers made things interesting with three ninth-inning runs and had the tying run on third with two outs. But Chris Ray retired Casey Blake on an infield grounder for his first save since joining the Giants in early July.
Scott Podsednik tripled in the first Los Angeles run in the ninth and then scored on a wild pitch. Matt Kemp had a run-scoring single to pull Los Angeles within a run.
Earlier in the game, Huff’s double gave the Giants a 3-2 edge. The lead increased to three runs in the fifth when Pat Burrell and Pablo Sandoval each had run-scoring doubles.
Furcal went 3-for-3 with a homer and also walked twice for the Dodgers.
Dodgers starter Carlos Monasterios (3-3) gave up four runs and seven hits in five innings.
