Victor Martinez drove in four runs and Jhonny Peralta hit a two-run homer as the Detroit Tigers piled on Francisco Liriano and the Minnesota Twins, 10-2, on Tuesday.
Austin Jackson added two hits and scored a run for the Tigers, who have won four straight and seven of eight to move back above .500 at 19-18.
Liriano, who was making his first start since pitching a no-hitter last week, made it through the first inning unscathed against the Tigers but lost his bid for history in the second when Peralta followed a walk from Martinez with a two-run blast to deep left.
Liriano (2-5) allowed two more runs in the third and was lifted after the frame due to illness.
A rain delay of just over an hour in the fourth did not do much to slow the Detroit offense, as Martinez doubled in another run in the fifth and Brennan Boesch singled in a pair in the seventh.
Rick Porcello (3-2) started for the Tigers and made it through the rain, finishing out five innings while allowing one run and three hits to earn the win.
