Joc Pederson and Chris Taylor each hit two of the Dodgers' seven home runs and had three hits apiece, and host Los Angeles beat the Colorado Rockies 16-9 on Monday night.
Pederson had five RBIs but was injured in the fifth inning when he ran into the short wall in right as he caught Charlie Blackmon's potential home run ball. Pederson fell in pain but managed to throw the ball to the relay man as he lay on his back.
He was attended to by trainers and walked off under his own power. Enrique Hernandez entered the game in his place. After the game, Pederson said that he merely lost his breath and experienced cramps. He added that he thought nothing was broken, though he didn't have X-rays.
Corey Seager and Matt Beaty homered and had two hits each, Chase Bellinger also connected, and Gavin Lux had two hits for Los Angeles in his major league debut.
The game was delayed for nearly 14 minutes in the bottom of the fifth when plate umpire Larry Vanover was hit in the right forearm by a foul ball. Vanover was replaced by Manny Gonzalez.
Dodgers starter Walker Buehler (12-3) was tagged for six runs on eight hits and no walks but struck out five in five innings to get the win. Kenta Maeda followed with four innings of three-run ball en route to his first save of the year.
Trevor Story homered among his two hits, Nolan Arenado, Ian Desmond and Ryan McMahon also went deep, and Daniel Murphy and Blackmon had three hits apiece for the Rockies. Colorado has lost seven straight.
Desmond also pitched a scoreless eighth.
Story led off the game with his 30th homer in Colorado's two-run first. Pederson's leadoff homer in the bottom of the inning highlighted Los Angeles' two-run first.
Rockies starter Peter Lambert (2-6) gave up six runs on eight hits in just 1 2/3 innings. He walked two and struck out two.
The Dodgers scored four more in the second, with Pederson getting another RBI on a double. Arenado hit a two-run homer in the third, his 36th, but Pederson answered again in the bottom of the inning with a three-run homer, his 30th of the season.
Taylor hit solo homers in the fourth and seventh innings, giving him 11 on the year. Bellinger hit his 44th, also in the seventh. Beaty led off the sixth with his eighth home run, and Seager followed with his 13th.
McMahon (his 20th) and Desmond (his 16th) went back-to-back in the ninth.
