Aaron Judge, back from his first day off of the season, homered and knocked in three runs as the New York Yankees demolished the host Kansas City Royals 10-1 Tuesday.

Following a rest day, Judge returned to deliver a first-inning RBI single, plating Anthony Volpe, who tripled on the second pitch of the game.

In the seventh, Judge hit a two-run, 436-foot blast to center, his 25th, for a 9-0 Yankees lead. He is hitting .401 with 21 homers and 49 RBIs over his past 41 games.

Giancarlo Stanton homered, his 16th, and drove in two for New York, which has won three straight and 11 of 13.

The Yankees' Gleyber Torres delivered an RBI hit ahead of Austin Wells' three-run homer to center during a four-run fourth inning as the Yankees increased the margin to 6-0. The long ball was Wells' second of the year.

New York starter Marcus Stroman (6-2) threw 5 2/3 shutout innings, allowing four hits and three walks while striking out one. Stroman is unbeaten in his past six starts.

Yankees starters have thrown at least four innings in all 69 games this year, the longest single-season stretch in franchise history.

New York has won 13 of its past 16 games against Kansas City.

Oswaldo Cabrera's two-out RBI hit in the sixth drove Royals starter Brady Singer from the mound. Singer (4-3) allowed a season-high seven runs -- six earned -- on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.

Kansas City's Freddy Fermin hit an eighth-inning homer, his second of the year.

Bobby Witt Jr. doubled and singled, extending his hitting streak to 12 games, one shy of his career best. Witt had two of Kansas City's five hits.

Drew Waters, called up from Triple-A Omaha, replaced Hunter Renfroe in right field as Renfroe went to the injured list with a broken left big toe. Renfroe was injured when he fouled two pitches off his foot on Monday.

Infielder Nick Pratto pitched a scoreless ninth inning for the Royals, who have lost three straight and 10 of 15.
