Deron Williams, who hit a key basket and two foul shots down the stretch, led the Jazz with 22 points. Al Jefferson scored 16 points, Paul Millsap added 15 and 10 rebounds and Andrei Kirilenko also scored 15 for Utah, which has won six of eight.
Tayshuan Prince scored 26 points and Richard Hamilton added 15 for the Pistons, who have lost four of five.
Williams' runner in the lane with 1:30 to play broke a 93-all tie, but Prince's basket tied it with 1:12 left. Bell's 3-pointer gave Utah the lead for good at 98-95 lead with 50 seconds to play.
A dunk by Pistons rookie Greg Monroe with 27 seconds left made it a one-point game. Bell was fouled and made both free throws for a 100-97 lead.
Tracy McGrady missed a 3-pointer and Williams was fouled, making both to seal the win.
