Tony Parker scored 23 points, including a rally-killing 3-pointer with just over two minutes to play, as the San Antonio Spurs outlasted the visiting Detroit Pistons, 111-104, on Wednesday night.
Manu Ginobili added 17 points and Tim Duncan contributed 15 and 12 rebounds as the Spurs (52-12) put on a dazzling shooting display in rebounding from Sunday's home rout at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Richard Hamilton came off the bench to lead six players in double figures with 20 points for the Pistons (23-42), who refused to fold after the Spurs hit their first 14 shots and connected on 80 percent (28 of 35) in the first half to take a 67-52 lead.
Tayshaun Prince and rookie Greg Monroe scored 16 points apiece for Detroit, which used a 7-0 run to get within 102-97 before Parker buried a 3-pointer and followed with a layup off a steal to restore the lead to 10 points.
Gary Neal added 15 points and Richard Jefferson 12 as San Antonio shot 64.3 percent (45 of 70) overall.
Parker also repelled a comeback in the closing moments of the third quarter, scoring six points in the final 2:08 after the Pistons had closed within six points.
