Zach Randolph scored 15 of his 30 points in the decisive second quarter and badly outplayed Los Angeles Clippers All-Star rookie Blake Griffin in the host Memphis Grizzlies’ 105-82 victory Monday.
Randolph shot 12 of 18 from the floor and added 12 rebounds for the Grizzlies (37-31), who snapped a two-game losing streak and lead Utah by two games for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
Griffin finished with a season-low eight points on 4-of-10 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds as Los Angeles (26-42) completed a 3-2 road trip.
Sam Young scored 14 points and Mike Conley added 13 for Memphis, which shot 53.6 percent and held Los Angeles to 40 percent.
Marc Gasol grabbed 11 rebounds for Memphis, but left in the third quarter with a right foot injury and did not return.
Randolph scored the Grizzlies’ last nine points of the first half as Memphis expanded a one-point lead entering the second quarter to 50-36 at the half. A 3-pointer by Conley midway through the third period pushed the edge to 20, and Memphis led by as many as 31 in the fourth.
Eric Bledsoe had 19 points off the bench and Mo Williams was the only starter in double figures with 11 for the Clippers.
