Chris Allen scored 16 points and freshman Percy Gibson added career-highs of 15 points and seven rebounds in his first start as Iowa State snapped a two-game losing streak with a 84-59 win over visiting Prairie View A&M on Tuesday.
Coming off losses to Northern Iowa and then-No. 15 Michigan last week, the Cyclones (6-3) scored the first eight points of the game and were never threatened.
Gibson, starting in place of Royce White, scored 13 in the first half as Iowa State raced to a 46-23 lead by shooting 55 percent from the field and limiting Prairie View (2-7) to just 29 percent.
Allen, who also matched a career-high with seven assists, scored 10 of his 16 points in the second half. Gibson finished an efficient 7-for-8 from the field.
White and Tyrus McGee came off the bench to contribute 12 points apiece for the Cyclones, who host archrival Iowa on Friday.
Prairie View A&M, which has dropped seven straight, was led by Jourdan Demuynck's game-high 18 points.
