Freshman forward Ioannis Papapetrou scored 15 points and had five assists while guard Demarcus Holland added 11 for Texas (9-10, 1-5 Big 12), which defeated the Red Raiders for the ninth straight time and improved to 28-3 all-time against its in-state rival under head coach Rick Barnes.
Forward Jordan Tolbert scored 18 points and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds while guard Dusty Hannahs added 10 points for Texas Tech (9-9, 2-5).

But Texas went ahead for good on a short jumper by freshman center Cameron Ridley at the 11:23 mark of the first half and gradually pulled away, leading 35-24 at halftime and 46-30 early in the second half.
The Longhorns, who came into the contest leading the nation in field goal defense (34.5 percent), held the Red Raiders to 37 percent shooting while compiling 14 steals and forcing 19 turnovers.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Texas improved to 15-0 at home against the Red Raiders during the Barnes era. ... Tech lost for the first time in seven games when Tolbert grabbed eight or more rebounds. ... Holland's 11 points were a career high, topping his previous best of seven.
