Virginia 80, Maryland 69: Joe Harris scored a game-high 22 points, including three 3-pointers, to lead the visiting Cavaliers past the Terrapins for the fourth straight time.
Justin Anderson had 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds to help Virginia (17-6, 7-3 ACC) win for the sixth time in its last seven games. Akil Mitchell scored 13 points and Paul Jesperson chipped in with 12 on four 3-pointers.
Dez Wells scored 13 points to lead Maryland (17-7, 5-6), which has lost three straight games. Seth Allen had 11 points, five assists and five steals off the bench while Alex Len added nine points and a team-high seven rebounds.
Virginia took a 30-28 lead on Anderson’s jumper with 2:38 left and led 35-29 at halftime. The Cavaliers shot 52.2 percent from the field in the first half to Maryland’s 35.5 percent.
Virginia, which never trailed in the second half, finished 11-for-19 from 3-point range while Maryland was 5-for-17 beyond the arc. The Cavaliers shot 54.2 percent from the field in the game to the Terrapins’ 46.6 percent.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Virginia’s 11 3-pointers matched a season high. … The Cavaliers' 16 turnovers equaled their second-highest total in conference play. … Virginia improved to 72-106 in the series.
