No Gavin Ware, no problem.
Mississippi State rolled past Missouri 76-62 on Saturday night in a Southeastern Conference game in Columbia, Mo., even without Ware, the Bulldogs' leading scorer and rebounder.
Ware did not travel to Columbia after suffering a concussion earlier in the week.
Instead, four Mississippi State players picked up the slack and scored in double figures. Guard Malik Newman led the Bulldogs (9-11, 2-6 SEC) with 19 points and guard Quinndary Weatherspoon posted a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
The game was out of reach early. Mississippi State ran out to a double-figure lead before the 10-minute mark of the first half and Missouri never cut its deficit to single digits.
The Tigers (8-13, 1-7) tried to rely on 3-point attempts to get back into the game but made on 2 of 25.
Mississippi State handed Missouri its sixth straight conference loss. The Tigers have gone 4-22 in conference play since Kim Anderson was hired before last season.
Guard Namon Wright led Missouri with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Before the game, Missouri announced that sophomore guard Tramaine Isabell had been suspended. It's his third suspension in his two years on the team.
