Matt Haarms' tip-in with 3.2 seconds to go lifted No. 15 Purdue to a 48-46 victory over in-state rival Indiana on Tuesday in Bloomington, Ind.
Haarms knocked in Carsen Edwards' miss. Indiana's Juwan Morgan missed a 3-point attempt at the buzzer.
Edwards, who was averaging 24.2 points entering the game, was limited to nine points, hitting only 4 of 24 shots.
Edwards sank a layup to put Purdue ahead 46-45 with 38 seconds to go. Romeo Langford hit the first of two free throws to tie it with 23 seconds left.
Ryan Cline led the Boilermakers (19-7, 12-3 Big Ten) with 11 points, all in the second half. Purdue has won 10 of its past 11 games while Indiana (13-13, 4-11) has dropped 11 of the last 12 games.
Langford was Indiana's leading scorer with 14 points, hitting 9 of 10 free throws. Morgan had nine points on 3-of-14 shooting and added a game-high 11 rebounds.
The Boilermakers shot 31.7 percent overall while the Hoosiers shot 27.3 percent. Indiana did have a 47-38 rebounding edge.
Cline scored the first five points of the second half to give Purdue a 25-20 lead.
Langford started the second half in the locker room but entered the game with 13:36 remaining.
At that time, Haarms was called for a personal foul and a technical foul and went to the bench with four fouls. Langford hit two free throws to cut the deficit to 31-29.
The Hoosiers eventually tied it at 34-all. Cline gave Purdue a 37-34 lead with a 3-pointer. The Hoosiers followed with six unanswered points to take a 40-37 lead.
The score was tied 20-all at halftime as both teams shot poorly. Langford hit a 3-pointer with 18 seconds left to pull Indiana even.
The Hoosiers made 6 of 26 shots (23.1 percent) before halftime while the Boilermakers weren't much better at 8 of 32 (25 percent). Purdue hit 3 of 18 3-point tries prior to halftime while Indiana sank 3 of 12 from 3-point range.
Edwards misfired on 11 of 12 shots in the first half.
Trailing 10-7, Purdue scored nine unanswered points to take a 16-10 lead.
Purdue previously beat visiting Indiana 70-55 on Jan. 19.
