James Akinjo shrugged off a ragged game by nailing the deciding pullup jumper with 14 seconds left in overtime as short-handed No. 10 Baylor outlasted Oklahoma State 66-64 on Monday in Stillwater, Okla.

Adam Flagler's 3-pointer with 1:13 remaining in regulation gave the Bears (23-5, 11-4 Big 12) a two-point lead, but Isaac Likekele responded with the tying layup for Oklahoma State with 42 seconds left. After a miss by Flagler, the Cowboys called a timeout to set up for a winning shot but could not get a good look, sending the game to overtime.

The teams traded baskets for the first three minutes of the extra period, with the Cowboys' Bryce Thompson tying the game at 64 with 2:04 to play on a driving layup. Both teams missed two 3-pointers each over the ensuing minute and a half before Baylor called timeout with 28 seconds left, ahead of Akinjo's game-winner.

Likekele's 3-point attempt with one second left bounced off the rim, sealing the outcome.

Flagler led the way for Baylor with a career-high-tying 29 points, and Matthew Mayer added 12. Akinjo scored just six points of 2-of-9 shooting but was clutch when it counted the most, helping the Bears win for the fourth time in five games.

Thompson paced Oklahoma State (13-14, 6-9) with 15 points. Likekele and Moussa Cisse had 12 each while Avery Anderson III scored 10 points for the Cowboys, who have alternated losses and wins over their past seven games.

The Cowboys missed their first nine shots from the floor over the game's initial four-plus minutes but were down only 6-2 because of their defense. Baylor stretched its lead to eight points on Mayer's dunk with 14:03 to go in the half before Oklahoma State found its stride, running off 10 straight points over the middle of the period to jump in front at 24-20.

Oklahoma State led 36-29 at the break after flipping its early script and making nine of its final 10 shots. Thompson led the way with 11 first-half points for the Cowboys, who outshot Baylor 50 percent to 38.7 percent over the first 20 minutes.

Flagler paced all scorers with 15 points in the half, going 6 of 7 from the floor while the rest of the Bears made six shots in 24 attempts (25 percent).

Overall on the night, Oklahoma State made 41.9 percent of its field-goal attempts while Baylor sank 36.8 percent.
