Antti Miettinen scored at 3:36 of overtime, lifting the Minnesota Wild to a 2-1 home triumph over the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday.
Martin Havlat also tallied and Niklas Backstrom made 27 saves for the Wild, who have won three in a row at the Xcel Energy Center.
After Curtis McElhinney denied rookie defenseman Marco Scandella's backhander, Anaheim's netminder stopped Miettinen's shot off the rebound with his right pad. But the puck bounced into the air, off of Miettinen and into the net, giving Miettinen his fifth goal of the season and the Wild their fifth win in seven games.
Neither team was able to gain an advantage in the first period, but Anaheim jumped ahead less than five minutes into the second when Teemu Selanne converted a power-play opportunity at 4:56 for his eighth goal of the season.
It took Minnesota less than two minutes to pull even as Havlat beat McElhinney with a backhander at 6:34 for just his second tally of the campaign.
McElhinney turned aside 25 shots for the Ducks, who outshot the Wild 16-2 in the third period but finished winless on their three-game road trip (0-1-2).
